Great Resource!

This is a great resource for seasoned and newbie educators alike. I'm an ELA girl by nature and choice and this brought the math standards into a clear workable focus for me. Well organized, easy to read this book also has reflections from teachers and students on each of the mathematical practices. It will not be gathering dust on my shelf as I see myself using it regularly in my planning.

Nice first part, scattered towards the end

The first part of the book deals with the product-development war between Apple and Google. Very dramatic, insightful and well-written. Apart from the dramatic work stories from the insiders at Google and Apple, it also covers a number of strategic non-trivial points, and is a very good read.
The last part opens up a general topic of 'where is the revolution headed' and describes the current relationship tension between the media companies (who provides content) and the 'internet' companies (who are increasingly providing the platform, e.g. Netflix). Typically, this part should be a book by itself, if it has to rise above what most people already know. The treatment of this topic in the book is weak, and makes for a scattered last part.

A must read - great background and story telling in a drama that is still unfolding

I read this on a recent flight and highly recommend it. As someone who was at many of Apple's product launches, I'm impressed by the unofficial stories that the author was able to unearth. This is a thoughtful, deeply researched, and enjoyable book to read.

Very Interesting Book!!!

The book chronicles the actions that led to the Apple/Google war. The book gives details of the struggles and accomplishments by each company in regards to each important product they launched. The book also highlights the relationship between Google owners (Brin, Page and Schmidt) and Apple founder (Steve Jobs). It reveals each person’s character and the method in which they run their companies. The fallout between both parties is an important lesson to entrepreneurs. When business is involved, you can’t rely on friendship or loyalty; and protecting your ideas by the law (patents, copyrights, etc.) is very important if you want the credit that you deserve.

I’m not a person that likes to read; actually I can’t remember the last time I read a book, but this book was very interesting. I learned a lot about the products I use every day. I have an IPod Touch and a Samsung Galaxy S3; and to learn about the process of developing these products was very informational. I’m not a tech person but I understand the difficulties of technology and the sacrifice it takes to advance the market. The book kept me interested. With each chapter I wanted to know what would happen next. I can’t say that this book will make me want to read more but I will say I am going to recommend this book to others.

I’m a University of Baltimore student enrolled in the Entrepreneurship course and this was my recommended reading.

About the Author
Amin Elsersawi is a Canadian author, engineer and by consensus a biochemist. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in power electronic from Bradford University, U.K in 1980. He is a professional engineer registered with the Professional Engineering Society of Ontario Canada Dr. Elsersawi is currently retired. He previously served as general director for notable power generation and distribution energy utility. Prior to that, he was a chief of electrical engineering for the Public Work and Government Services Canada. He published more than 100 papers and reports in engineering and mathematic, biology, astronomy, and chemistry. He spent more than 15 years in teaching at universities and colleges. His main research interests are twentieth-century engineering, astronomy and chemistry. His interests in astronomy took off in the early 1990 at the age of 50, when he showed a great interesting in leaning toward mathematical and behavioral astronomy. He compiled his own celestial mechanics algorithms for the precise computation of astrophysics of planets and constellations, and other phenomena such as weak energy, dark universe, quantum radiations and lights. He presented several reports, articles and essays in chemistry and chemical engineering at several seminars and conferences. He is the author of the book Chemistry, Biology and Cancer: the Bond, and the book The Atom and The Universe: Theories and Facts unfold. Dr. Elsersawi and his wife, Randa, have been happily married since 1969 and have three children. First daughter, a University of Toronto graduate is a practicing gynecological and obstetrician. The second daughter, a graduate in psychology from York University, and the son, a graduate in electrical engineering from Western Ontario University. Dr. Elsersawi and Randa are the proud grandparents of seven.

this book is a must read for all believers!!!

The Lord led me to this book in what I can only describe as a supernatural way. After years of countless dating failures, I became born again and recently began courting a young Christian woman. We decided to read this book together after I came across Heather Lindsey's blog. Mr. Lindsey illustrates the beauty of a Holy Union in a unique and profound way. He covers a multitude of topics pertaining to marriage, however his thoughts about being single challenged my perceptions and gave me new understanding. He inspired me with his testimony and encouraged me not to kiss my future bride until our wedding day. Mr. Lindsey is a born again Christian filled with the Holy Spirit and a passion to serve and love The Lord. This book has certainly been a blessing in my life and I highly recommend it to any and all as it will strengthen your relationship Christ and your mate!! May The Lord bless you and keep you :-)

The book is filled with the author's flawed opinions. He presents the information as biblical but they are mostly personal opinions that should not be have been presented as a standard. His whole rant -on how women should take their husbands last name and how he felt disrespected when he thought his wife didn't want to take his last name but was relieved when he realized it was a joke - was not cute at all. His emphasis that this is the right thing to do was weak. It came off very simple minded. Also his whole discourse regarding the holy spirit telling him he should not be upset about his wife asking him to help with dishes an occasion was quite ridiculous. Anyone who the holy spirit has to tell not to be angry about helping with dishes really shouldn't writing a relationship book. At least not one for me. It sounds like he has a complex. This guy really seems stuck on traditions that really don't have a lot of spiritual value. I was looking forward to the book when I ordered it but I am completely disappointed with it. However, I have had a chance to look through he and his wife websites and I think they are really trying to reach people with the gospel they know. I think his wife is a wonderful speaker. I do respect their ministry and pray that God will use them for his glory. However this particular book, in my opinion was quite bad. His own personal hang-ups will certainly not be the standard or model for my marriage.

Inspiring!

I adore the Lindseys. They truly radiate God's love and truth and you can tell that they yearn to obey and please Him in all that they do. I am single, but reading Cornelius' account of his courtship with Heather truly inspired me. If God does indeed call me to be married, I want to glorify Him in every aspect of my relationship with my future spouse, including the courtship. I would absolutely love to follow the advice Cornelius gives in this book. He discusses plenty, including how to properly set boundaries in your courtship and explains the benefits and blessings they end up bringing. Marriage is to be taken seriously, and if you want God to honor your marriage, you should honor Him in your courtship.

A fair reference manual.

Not many schematics. I wish it could have gone a little deeper into network layers. It's OK, but just remember one thing. You usually have to throw away these books after ten years because the speed of obsolescence is on the heels of innovation.
