Once, he was an assassin, but he has renounced The Order.

To complete their tasks, the Saints will travel to the ruined cities of the elves and dwarves in search of a mystical artifact called the Dwarven Hand but they will not do so unnoticed.
Sviska works to fight against the Order and this new evil before any hope of magic returning is forever lost. But he has not escaped from his shadowy past and his betrayal to his masters will have a steep price.

Great read!

I wasn't expecting much from a new author but this book blew me away. Lots of detailed fight scenes and a variety of main characters from magic, archery and blade abilities. I enjoy seeing characters from previous books pop up unexpectedly. There are plenty of twists and turns that keep you on your toes. I look forward to reading the 3rd book of this series.

The Saints of Wura find themselves against the sinister Grand Protectorate in this strong sequel

After the battle of Elinathrond in the first book, the four Saints of Wura mourn the loss of their friends and embark on a journey over the sea to defeat the Grand Protectorate but find themselves vulnerable in a world where magic will not work. With a much larger geographical canvas than the last book, we meet a lot of new characters - some friends, some enemies. There are many Chieftans, towns and islands to familiarise yourself with. The villains of the piece, the Grand Proctorate prove themselves to be even more evil than last time, brutally persecuting villagers like Nazis in WW2. There are surprises along the way and both Sviska's companions and the Order are nicely fleshed out as we go along and it builds to a satisfying climax which, like the last book is handled very well. Unlike another reviewer here, I did not find the text littered with typos or grammatical errors, to me it read well ( I don't think mine was a revised version 1.01? ). I liked this book so much I've already bought book 3; 'Reckoning in the Void' and will start reading it tonight to find out what happens next! #Recommended [ Bought from Amazon UK, read on a Kindle eReader ]
