More technology for what purpose?

Dmitry puts to pen many thoughts that have been coalescing in my consciousness for many years.His articulate description of technology for its own sake is a vital insight in surviving the coming collapse of our fossil fuel fired society. This is a must read for everyone, especially anyone wondering about the merit of constant growth on a finite planet.

The Best. Orlov sings!

For me, this is the best read in a decade. Chapter 8--social action--alone is worth the the full price. So far, I've sent off three copies and am ordering ten more. Destination: For leaders who are beyond the complaint and disgust phase and are inclined to take action. I disagree with Orlov's use to the word "autonomy". Autonomy seems to be a goal for individuals. My sense is that our decisions are more often in the context of a consensus. I think having "agency" is a better term.l.

Has motivated me to do less

But do it better and when possible more naturally. I already work from home and prior to that commuted by bicycle to work. Some of the language And phrases I am now using in everyday conversations . generally with resulting dismay by those I speak with. Witty as usual. Great book
