Fun games but misprinted descriptive text.

The text has so many mistakes - lots of boxes where letters should be in the rules and descriptions of the puzzles. I'm going to have to look up rules on the internet for the Skyscraper puzzles because of this. I think the puzzles themselves are okay. These are fun games nonetheless. I especially like the Greater Than/Less Than puzzles.

It's amazing how such a small book packs such a big punch. At least for those of us still searching for our true purpose in life. The ideas in this book are straight to the core. The author obviously speaks from life experiences and not from fictional ideas just to make a quick buck. I've been searching for sometime for this kind of motivation and ideas on how to become more successful. The whole concept of the book is a wake up call, makes you think and rethink your current strategies. Look forward to doing some more reading, will be following Secret Entourage closely, their content is definitely some of the best I've seen in quite sometime.

I really liked the ideas this book puts out there, it talks directly about people's perspectives on making it and the issues that we all face - mainly with our own ways of finding excuses when we try to achieve something. Reading it at one sitting def made an impact on me, I'm already keen to the ideas in this book, but it still inspired me, specially because it verbalized everything I already know but wasn't necessarily thinking about or doing anything about. Additionally what I learned is to move forward, which we all know how to do but we can always use a push and a shove in the right direction - reading this has made me just a little more focused on what I need to do... it's def. a book that causes self reflection, which can bring about a lot of good things.

Learned about my fears

I'll begin by saying that I never leave reviews like this unless I feel the need to based on quality of product.

I thought I was fearless. I picked up this book for its punch line of "changing your mindset" because I always believed that success starts with tweaking the way you look at everything. To my surprise this book had taught me much more than was anticipated. The book made me realize that even though I thought I was fearless, I was plagued everyday by fears I had not recognized as fears! I suggest you pick up the book even if only for its ability to allow you to analyze yourself and identify the fears that are holding you back.

Very interesting and quite unique story

It is a quite accurate depicting of the failings of the soviet state and capitalist state alike. But the fact that it had such a clarity about Soviet situation in 1984 rather than post 1990 it is uncany compared to what we in the west knew then.

Pain of the generation

This book by Aksyonov is definately nowhere near "crap" like some reader wrote . Ironically , the same reader refferes to A.Rybakov ( !!! ) as a "good Russian modern author". Well , I guess the same reader preffers Pat Boone over Elvis too . Pity, pity, pity on that reader . The Island ( like most of Aksyonov's works ) has a great deal of pain and tortured social and civic selves of the people who are trapped between their love for Russia and grim Communist reality of the USSR . And again , like many other Aksyonov works , the Island might be a bit too difficult to fully understand and relate to for most of the Westerners . It is hard for the one who never experienced the gloom and doom of living in the country of the "proletariat's dictatorship" to fully believe that it was REALLY that bad . In this book the Island is a model of what modern Russia could have been if not for the violent Communist coup of 1917 that brought all the pain and misery in the world to Russia . The Island of Crimea is a great book ,well-written , with enough joy and enough pain to be read and liked by many .

1. Fun to read 2. Amazingly prescient -- anticipates CNN, constant media coverage, etc. before these were ever invented in the West -- how someone in state-censored Russia could have anticipated and described it is a wonder. 3. An excellent satire, not just of Russian and communist mores and values, but also of Western mores and values as well. 4. It was haunting to read this book just as the turnover of Hong Kong to China was occurring -- many of the characters' comments in this book anticipated the same things being said 10-20 years later in Time and Newsweek.

Very Enjoyable!

I picked this book because after reading the blurb I thought this would be a great, light read and it was. However, I failed to notice that it was the third book of a series. I figured it out while I was reading the book because the author kept giving a lot of back story into the two previous couples. You really don't need to read the two previous books in order to read this one, but the characters involved in those books are very interesting and I'm sure I would have liked reading their stories. You see, I have a mild case of OCD regarding series and their order, so I am a little bit disappointed but not enough for it to affect my overall rating. I just wanted to let you know in case you are a series freak like me. ;)

The story started slow. Very slow. It took me a couple of days just to get past the first chapter. I'm sure the author, Donna Kauffman, was just trying to let the reader know about the past events in Kit's life and how she got to be in the situation she was currently in, but to me it felt a bit much. And the same can be said about Morgan's first narration piece. It was overwhelming for me to keep up. The only difference was that in Morgan's case I was already invested in the story, so it was easier to bear.

That said, the interaction between these two was great to read. They were amazing characters. Kit was your typical apprehensive young woman who wanted to make something of herself first before getting into a relationship. And Morgan was a funny, caring uncle who suddenly found himself as a single dad to his niece and instantly charmed by Kit. Their connection felt real and believable, which helped the story a lot. There were doubts and hesitation as well as moments of complete abandon between them. What I enjoyed the most was their dialog. It was very amusing, filled with a lot of banter and flirting. The secondary characters added to the story as well. I especially liked Franco and Lily, they were adorable.

The romance side of the story was very good too. When these two first kissed it was amazing. I could feel their passion and their hesitation. And when they finally came together it was everything I imagined it would be. The author really did time it perfectly and wrote it beautifully.

"I want to revel in you."

Again, it felt very real - there was humor, passion, lust and hesitation. Making their first time together very believable. And after that? Uff, just excellent. There was this one scene...Well you will just have to read about it for yourself. I'll just say that it was hot and funny and totally unexpected.

This is the first book I read by Donna Kauffman and I think it will not be the last if her others are anything like this one. Light, funny and filled with great characters and amazing romance.

All that thought and emotion sharing was just too much for my English sensibilities ~ Under the Covers

Kit Bellamy has come to Sugarberry Island to start a new life after the business she loved was sold from under her. Still reeling her life crumbling beneath her, she hopes her new job and life on Sugarberry Island will be just what she needs. What she didn't expect to find was Morgan Westlake. Morgan is now the sole guardian to his niece Lilly after his brother and wife dies a year ago, coming to Sugarberry Island he plans on making a new start away from his overbearing and cold family, what he didn't expect was Kit Bellamy.

I made the fatal mistake of being attracted to a book because of its cover and title. One because yellow (and green) are my favourite colours and two it mentioned cupcakes and who doesn't love a cupcake? Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me, I found myself more interested in reading the recipes at the back of the book (which sound delicious and I fully plan on trying out!) than I was in the book itself.

What I didn't like most about this book was the weird way in which the characters, especially Kit and Morgan spoke to each other, it just seemed so...unrealistic, and coming from a gal who likes romance heavy on the werewolves that is saying something. I found it more feasible that a sexy bloke will start sprouting fangs and a bit of extra hair then a he would constantly want to talk about his feelings. Every conversation would start with an update on their emotional state and inevitably someones eyes would start going "shimmery"... I mean really? Who lives like that? All that thought and emotion sharing was just too much for my English sensibilities.

But there were good points, it had a quirky and eccentric cast of secondary characters who made me chuckle and Lilly, Morgan's niece, was disgustingly cute and I loved her fascination with the sea turtles.

This book just wasn't really for me, although the romance was kind of sweet I found it a little boring and by the end I found I was reading to get to the end, rather then because I enjoyed it.

This book is a heartfelt, warm story about a woman's journey to find love. Kit has suffered emotionally. She's experienced loss and feels like her life is going nowhere. She decides to open a bakery, pouring all of her emotions in to a job she loves. When she runs in to the tall dark and handsome lawyer, Morgan, however, everything changes, and she's caught up in the possibility of a romance.

The development of the romance between Kit and Morgan is beautiful. The emotional obstacles that Kit must face are all too familiar, and as she works through them, Morgan's ability to understand and his patience is romantic and very sweet. As the story goes on, their friends and family play the role of matchmaker, trying to encourage and convince the two that their relationship is worth all of the effort.

Fun, loving and charming, this story set in the South, is a perfect romance for a night in. If you're looking for a good book that will make you melt, pick this one up and fall in love.
