About the Author
Tom Gunning�is professor in the Department of Art History and the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. He is the author of�The Films of Fritz Lang: Allegories of Vision and Modernity.�Joshua Yumibe�holds a joint appointment as assistant professor and director of film studies at Michigan State University and as a lecturer in film studies at the University of St Andrews.�Giovanna Fossati is head curator at EYE Film Institute Netherlands and the author of From Grain to Pixel: The Archival Life of Film in Transition.�Jonathon Rosen is a painter, illustrator, animator, and faculty member of the MFA Visual Narrative and Illustration/Cartooning departments at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Absolutely amazing! A must-have art book. Worth every penny.

Film and photography historians, artists seeking inspiration, and anyone who loves beautiful art books needs to own this volume. It is full of ideas, whimsy, originality and beauty. The print and paper quality are first class.There is a fair mount of text for those (myself included) interested in the color tinting technologies of the time, but most of the book is page after page of truly stunning color and creativity. I am a digital artist and animator with more than 30 years of experience, and I find the material presented here to be very unique and addictive to look at and into. Get this book, you won't be disappointed!
