About the Author
Tracey Lord is a graduate in constructed textiles with twenty-five years of experience designing and making knitted and crocheted fabrics. As a college lecturer at the Hampstead Garden Suburb Institute, she has run degree-level fashion and textiles courses. She has taught at the Textile Arts Center in Chicago and at the Fylde College of Further & Higher Education in the United Kingdom.

Lots of mistakes in directions.

There are a ton of beautiful designs in here, unfortunately the instructions were not very well proofed and there are a lot of mistakes, or badly written directions that would lead a beginning crocheter to frustration and confusion. If you are a relatively comfortable mid-level crocheter I'm sure it would be no problem, just take the directions with a grain of salt and if something seems wrong it probably is, make your best guess to adjust the pattern and you'll be fine.

$20 for a book full of typos and errors.

I will start by saying this isn't a bad book for intermediate and advanced crocheters that want to find different squares to do other than the traditional granny. However, I'm really disappointed in the amount of typos and times I've had to alter patterns to get them to work. I'm an advanced crocheter and have tested for many "famous" designers in the crochet world. But it's so disappointing to see so many typos in multiple patterns in this book that was published and in so many stores. Shame on the designer and editors for not spell checking and making sure everything was ok before publishing a book. Any designer worth anything knows the importance of having people test the designs they create BEFORE publishing it whether online or in a book paid or free.
Again, if you want inspiration and can get past typos and low how to alter patterns and feel like dealing with that mess I would say it's not bad. If you're a new crocheter just starTing out and haven't had much experience reading patterns don't waste your time.
$20 for a book full of typos is preposterous which is why I'm giving it 2 stars and I probably won't ever buy anything from this designer again until I know she actually has her designs tested.

Great patterns, but comb binding opens, spilling pages out.

Book would be rated much higher if metal comb binding didn't come open so the pages fall out. Anyone know how to stabilize the binding?
All pattern abbreviations aren't in the glossary - using this book reminds me about the old Sears Catalog instructions -- "start at the beginning and keep reading until you find what you're looking for."
